Vietnamese authorities have postponed a planned reopening of international borders with 6 Asian countries as it continues to enforce biosecurity protocols. On September 16, Vietnam announced international flights could resume to and from specific cities in China, Taiwan, South Korea, Cambodia, Japan and Laos. It is expected that once the borders reopen, arriving passengers will have to quarantine for 14 days.
In light of the Coronavirus crisis, Vietnam has automatically extended all visitor visas until September 30. This applies to those who arrived in the country since March 1. The measure allows these foreigners to leave the country without penalty until September 30.
