Sagunto

Located just 30km north of the city, Sagunto is one of the best day trips from Valencia for remote workers looking to delve deep into the regions history and culture. This small and charming village is defined by its ancient ruins which include the remains of a Roman theater. Known as a settlement point for the many invasions lived in the region, Sagunto is marked by the architectural influences of Muslim and Jewish settlers. The town has great restaurants and cafés and truly makes for a charming day trip from Valencia. You can get here by bus straight from Av. Blanco Ibañez in Valencia, for less than 3EUR.


Peñíscola

This is one of the best day trips from Valencia for remote workers looking for a relaxed beach day away from the city’s crowded beaches at El Cabanyal and La Malvarosa. Located north of Valencia, on the coast of Spain, this beautiful seaside village is the stuff of fairy tales. Quaint houses perched up on small hills overlooking the ocean give the area a distinctly Mediterranean feel. The restaurants and cafés here are excellent and the beaches perfect for a more relaxed getaway. This town’s magical vibe and charming cobble-stoned streets featured heavily in Game of Thrones’ sixth season! You can get to Peñíscola easily from Valencia by taking a train from Nord station for less than 10EUR.


Albarracín

Frequently tipped as one of the most beautiful villages in Spain, this is another magical town which makes for a remarkable day trip from Valencia for remote workers looking to relax away from the city. In Albarracín you can treat yourself to unforgettable river hikes and explore the town’s lush hills. The traditional architecture lining Albarracín’s steep streets has for long been the inspiration of poets and writers impressed by the village’s beauty. Located not too far inland from Valencia, you can get to Albarracín by taking a train from Nord Station to Cella and then a taxi from there.


Requena

This is a favorite day trip from Valencia for remote workers looking to have a fun getaway from the city and exploring some of the most beautiful vineyards in Spain. Requena is one of the country’s foremost exporters of the famous local cava which means visitors to this charming little town will have plenty of opportunity to savor the local sparkling wines. Requena’s historical center is also very attractive and offers lots of great restaurants and cafés perfect for a quick snack in between tours. Requena is located about an hour away from Valencia by bus.


Albufera

No guide to day trips from Valencia would be complete without mentioning the famous Albufera National Park located just 10km south of the city center of Valencia. The El Palmar town right next to the Albufera Park is considered a major gastronomic hub and, in many ways, the birthplace of the city’s most famous dish - the Valencian paella. The Park itself is dominated by the huge lagoon, where it is possible to take boat rides and go birdwatching. Hiking routes are also available around the lagoon. Getting to El Palmar from Valencia is easy - just take the bus route 24 or 25 from the center of the city straight to El Palmar for 1.5EUR and then the traditional boat across to Albufera.
