What are the Best Day Trips from Tbilisi for Remote Workers?

The town is located some 25 Km north of Tbilisi and boasts beautiful architectural gems including the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral and other orthodox places of worship. A main highlight of Mtshketa is the Javri Monastery which is perched atop a hill, giving you incredible views of the town below. Mtshketa is an uncomplicated and rewarding day trip from Tbilisi, only 40 minutes from the heart of the capital.


Kazbegi

Known also as Stepantsminda, the Kazbegi area is a perfect day trip for remote workers looking to experience the magic the Caucuses without going too far from Tbilisi. The town is located only around 153 Km from the capital and takes a total of around 4 hours to get here from Tbilisi. This is a super popular day destination from Tbilisi, so your best bet is to pay 10GEL and take the marshrutka straight to Kazbegi from Didude Station. In Kazbegi, you will want to visit the iconic Gergeti Trinity Church by car and perhaps take a short hike in the area. Enjoy the views of the Caucuses and the majestic Mt. Kazbek here.


Sighnaghi

Located some 100 Km east of Tbilisi, Sighnaghi is a fantastic day trip from Tbilisi for remote workers looking for a relaxing getaway filled with wine, relaxing meals and fresh air. It is best to get to Sighnaghi by taxi from Tbilisi so you can experience the most of this little town in eastern Georgia. Located in the Kakheti region, known for its distinct linguistic and cultural identity, Sighnaghi is widely recognized as the heart of the Georgian wine country. Here, youโ€™ll be able to step into wineries explaining and demonstrating the ancient art of Georgian winemaking and also visit the iconic Bobde Convent in the heart of the city.


Barjomi & Bakuriani

Some 160 Km west of Tbilisi is the beautiful town of Borjomi, located right next to the Borjomi Nature Reserve. This is a highly enjoyable day trip from Tbilisi for remote workers because of the many natural water springs available amidst the beautiful natural landscapes. The impressive Romanov Palace is a highlight of a trip to Bojormi, as well as the many guide hikes available as well as skiing trips in the winter! While you are in Bojormi, a visit to the nearby town of Bakuriani is recommended -- here, you can take advantage of the spas and mineral water springs available.
